Ukraine has risen to 76th place in the ranking of Doing Business 2018

In the international rating of ease of doing business Doing Business 2018, compiled by the World Bank, Ukraine has taken 76th place - between Bhutan and Kyrgyzstan. Compared with last year, the country has improved its position by 4 points and got up from the 80th place.

The rating is formed in 10 categories. It was the success of Ukraine’s in 4 categories that allowed it to rise in the general rating.

Thus, there was observed a breakthrough in the indicator "Dealing with Construction Permits", according to which the country grew by 105 points (from 140 to 35). The key role in this was played by the decrease in the share of participation in infrastructure development by the Kyiv City Council from 10 to 2% and the decrease in the cost of services for technical supervision in construction.

Ukraine climbed up by 41 points (from the 84^th place to the 43^rd) in the category "Paying Taxes" due to the reduction and unification of the unified social tax. In addition, the country advanced in such indicators as "Connection to power supply system" (from 130^th to 128^th) and "Resolving insolvency" (from 150^th to 149^th).

Ukraine has worsened its position in the other six categories. The worst dynamics was observed in the category "Starting the business", where the state’s position fell by 32 points (from 20^th to 52^nd). The state’s position in "Protecting minority investors" decreased by 11 points (from 70^th to 81^st); in "Getting Credit" fell by 9 points (from 20^th to 29^th); in "Trading across borders" declined by 4 points (from 115^th to 119^th). At the same time, Ukraine has lost one position in the categories "Property Registrating" (from 63^rd to 64^th) and "Enforcing contracts" (from 81^st to 82^nd).

New Zealand was on the of Doing Business 2018 rating. It was followed by Singapore, Denmark, South Korea and Hong Kong. Georgia has taken the ninth place, Estonia – 12th, Lithuania – 16^th, Latvia – 19^th, Germany – 20^th, Poland – 27^th, Russia – 35^th, Kazakhstan – 36^th, Belarus – 38^th, Moldova – 44^th.
